The Society of Vantaa Folk Culture is one of organizations that functions in Vantaa in the metropolitan area in order to preserve Finnish folk culture and old traditions.
The Society was founded in 1988 and it works for the citizens of Vantaa. The Society´s activities include folk dancing, folk songs and music, folk poetry and genealogy. The main event of the year is the Laurentius Festival in August. The festival is founded on local history. The Society is growing more international by performing abroad among people of Finnish origin and by acting as host for visiting foreign groups. There are groups for children as well as for adults in the society. The Society is non-political organization.
